Services
The Saint Lucia
Bureau of Standards is responsible for developing, adopting,
promoting and encouraging the use of standards in Saint Lucia.
Implementation of the Bureau's mandate falls under the following
programmes: Standards Development; Product Certification; Compulsory
Standards Compliance, Verification and Calibration of Weights and
Measures, Information Services and Training.
The
Information Services Department is the arm of the Bureau
responsible for ensuring that Saint Lucia and the rest of the world,
are kept
abreast of the Bureau's work in promoting
standardization and quality in Saint Lucia.
Standardization
affects nearly every product or service encountered in daily
life. Producers, manufacturers,
exporters and
private sector bodies, whose competitiveness
depend largely on access to relevant timely information on standards,
technical
regulations, conformity
assessment procedures and related matters, can access
such information through the department.
The
activities of the Information Services Department are coordinated
