WTO TBT Enquiry Point  

The Bureau serves as Saint Lucia's Notification Authority and Enquiry Point for the World Trade Organization's Agreement on Technical Barriers to Trade (WTO TBT). 

The Information Department coordinates all activities relating to this function. These include preparation and submission of notifications to the WTO TBT committee of proposed technical regulations and conformity assessment procedures in Saint Lucia. 

The department is also responsible for keeping the local private sector abreast with similar developments in other WTO member states. Through this mechanism local exporters can be alerted of changing regulations and requirements that apply to the trade of their products. This forum also allows for review of the proposed regulations and conformity assessment procedures, comments, suggestions and enquiries about these changes.
