Inspection Programme
On
October 1, 2004 the Bureau of Standards initiated the Tyre
Inspection Program. This program requires that new and used tyres
entering St. Lucia undergo a process of rigorous inspection,

importation of blemished tyres or tyres molded with the following:
Used
TYRES - the
entire consignment is inspected. Inspectors examine the tyres for
cracking in the sidewall and tread, evidence that the tyre has been
driven under or over inflated, ply separation, tread depth and other
injuries.
Tyres
are inspected to ensure that they conform to the requirements
specified in SLNS 40:2001 - Specification for Pneumatic Tyres and
SLNS 42:2001 - Specification for Pneumatic Tyres for vehicles other than passenger
