Compliance Department

Market Surveillance

The Compliance Department conducts surveillance inspections at retail outlets and supermarkets through out the island, to verify compliance of products with relevant compulsory standards. The inspection staff conduct inspections and also investigate complaints involving a wide range of items.

Products found not to be in compliance during surveillance exercises are either placed on hold or seized and removed from the market. This is done to ensure that all commodities are examined by the Bureau at some point in time to verify compliance with relevant compulsory standards.
