Consumers of Paradise Water can continue to be assured that when they drink a bottle of this product they are consuming water that meets national standards. This assurance was made official earlier this month when General Manager of Paradise Water, Mr. Mark Cozier, signed the licence agreement to carry the Standard Mark issued by the Saint Lucia Bureau of Standards (SLBS). The signing ceremony took place at the offices of the SLBS with representatives of Paradise Water and SLBS present.
In his remarks, Director of the SLBS, Dr. Darius Gabriel, described the company’s achievement of the Standard Mark as “no mean feat”. He hoped that other corporate entities would be persuaded to emulate the example of Paradise Water’s achievement because, Gabriel noted, the Standard Mark has “external potential” due to the opening up of regional and international trade in which standards play a crucial role.
For his part, Mr. Cozier expressed his company’s pride in carrying the Standard Mark which is integral to its plan to maintain quality assurance. He emphasized that certification by a local entity such as the SLBS was important because it gives Saint Lucians third party verification of the product’s quality. Mr. Cozier said that Paradise Water was committed to carrying the Standard Mark in the future and pointed to the value of the Mark in remaining competitive in an ever expanding bottled water market. Paradise Water is a department of Goddard Catering Group Ltd.
The Standard Mark is issued under the SLBS’s product certification scheme and the licence to carry the Mark is valid for one year. For more information, please contact the SLBS’s Certification Department at 453-0049 or 456-0546/0102.
