The Saint Lucia Bureau of Standards (SLBS) is in search of a logo for a new standards quality mark. The SLBS intends to apply this mark to different products and services offered under its certification schemes. As part of this process, the SLBS has decided to invite the public to submit designs for its
STANDARDS QUALITY MARK LOGO COMPETITION. The competition will run from
12th January - 15th February 2012.
Under the Standards Act of 1990, the SLBS is empowered to operate certification programmes that are applicable to products and services for which national standard specifications exist. To support the certification programmes, a standards quality mark is assigned as a demonstration that a product or service meets the requirements of the specific standard being assessed and is a tacit endorsement by the SLBS of that product or service.
The successful design in the Standards Quality Mark Logo Competition will provide the framework for the existing certification programmes and for the impending expansion to include certification for the Food, Tourism, Agriculture and Beauty and Wellness Sectors.
The SLBS is encouraging wide participation in the Standards Quality Mark Logo Competition as it will give artists an opportunity to have their design featured on premier products and services in St. Lucia.
The winning entry will be awarded a cash prize of One thousand five hundred dollars ($1,500.00). The competition is open to individuals or teams of all ages.
